As a concert artist, Andrew has appeared with orchestras as varied as
the Austin Symphony, the Philadelphia Philharmonic, and the iconic
Western Swing band, The Texas Playboys. He performs a variety of
classic popular song in many venues across the U.S. including the
Acuff Theatre (Opryland), The Four Seasons Austin, on the high seas
for Carnival Cruise Lines, and in Las Vegas.
As a recording artist,
Andrew has released six CD’s. In 2008, he landed on the national music
charts with 2 different recordings: “I Believe” from his most recent
CD, I Believe in Angels, has been on the Power Source Top 100 for
six months, as has “Houston, Houston, Houston” from Heller’s CD,
Places. His other recordings include Christmas Wonder, My Beloved,
El Paso, and Broadway Love.
As a youth, Andrew placed first in the New York Young Artist
Metropolitan Opera Auditions. As a soloist, Heller performed in New
York at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Marble Colligate Church, and many lead
roles in summer stock throughout the East Coast. He put his professional
singing career aside temporarily to pursue advanced degrees in science
and mathematics, and began his scientific career at IBM. Heller rose to
the position of President of IBM’s Independent Business Unit, where he
supervised the creation of computers now known as the RS6000 and
AIX, IBM’s leading edge version of the UNIX operating system. Heller
is the youngest person ever to be named an IBM Fellow, a lifelong
honor.
After leaving Big Blue, Andrew established Heller Associates,
a private consulting firm providing services to startup and mainstream
tech companies, and joined Kleiner Perkins, Caufield and Byers, a
well-known venture capital fund in Silicon Valley. He has helped found
or advise dozens of companies including Smart Technologies, SIII(S3),
Rambus, and Network Translation Inc. (now a division of Cisco),
among others.
Andrew Heller returned to his musical career in 2004 with his first
recording, My Beloved, and a performance with The Austin Symphony.
His eclectic repertoire spans Great American Songbook, Americana,
and Inspirational genres, as well as French and Italian Popular Song.
Andrew Heller is a favorite and frequent radio guest of DJ’s nationwide
as both a singer and a scientist, and was recently featured on Fox News
Network’s Strategy Room. Andrew Heller and his wife Mary Ann
Heller reside in Austin, Texas.
